ISHMAEL HUNTER

I am a Photographer based in Miami who focuses on Street Photography and Portraiture of Black men. In my portraits, I try and depict men trying to vulnerable without the need of speech or much text. In the work, I show them being vulnerable about things such as mental illness, depression, and other complex human emotions. I try to be as truthful with my photography as I can be.

I like doing stuff, fun stuff. I won’t say I have everything thought out fully but. I do what I can and I enjoy what I do. I adore Photography and it’s what I wanna do. Digital or Film I really can’t decide. It’s funny cause I will bring both a Digital and Film camera with me on shoots just because there are beauties in both. I want a personal darkroom because there are very few pleasures that beat seeing a print you’ve spent so much time on come out perfectly.
